Whilst the lodge itself was excellent the position of the lodge made it not very private. The lounge and the balcony with hot tub faces the pathway tothe rear exit dog walk and as the pathway rises people can look straight into the lounge and balcony.
To improve this there needs to be privacy curtains on the lounge patio windows and screening for the hot tub. The mattress covers require replacing as they do not fit the mattresses which are of a good quality. We also feel that in this day and age there should be a member of the staff on site 24 hours a day.
Whilst there is a telephone contact which was answered immediately this does not provide security in the event of trouble. Disappointed with noise in changeover days! Gardeners were fine but cleaners need to be reminded that there are still guests in site so shouting to each other and swearing is not appropriate, because of my husband's health we spent days at the lodge!

There was some old food left in the fridge and a bin that had not been emptied in the bathroom, the floor was also in need of a sweep. ANGELA "This is our 2nd time at Wareham Forest Lodge retreat we had a wonderful time again and on my return home, we all enjoyed our break so much that we have booked the same week for next year - Lovely quiet relaxing place.
Just a shame when you book you can't request the same lodge number as we loved the lodge we had Number 29 was just beautiful - thank you. We are happy to hear you found the location pleasant, lodge clean and the team friendly.

The lodge itself was lovely, clean, well equipped, relaxing. The location was a good base to explore other areas. We had plenty of space in our 3 bed but there was only 3 of us! Beds are comfy. Kitchen is great. The downsides….. The check in and check out times are a big let down.
You effectively only get a 6 day holiday. It cannot take 8 hours in total to clean! At the price you pay they should employ more cleaners to get it cleaned quicker so you can check in earlier and out an hour later.
The other thing requiring improvement is a better tv in the lounge. Very poor quality with only one HD channel and no Smart functions to access Netflix, prime etc. Surely this is a must these days. Another nice touch would have been a blue tooth speaker.
All in all, the surrounding areas make up for it. Durdle door was our favourite. We are thrilled to hear your stay with us was almost excellent, finding you lodge lovely, clean and well-equipped.

A retreat which is worth the money, we travelled 6 hours and arrived at as we could go no further my wife got out to ask if we could check in, the receptionist tapped her watch and said its not 5pm they are still cleaning your lodge.
The keys are inside the lodge and a seal on the door to inform you it has been sanitised we in place. Once inside the dishes in the dishwasher were already washed dried and no heat so they were not still cleaning the lodge. The lodge itself was beautiful and comfy it was mostly peaceful until someone else's kids start screaming apart from the tapping watch staff were friendly and said good morning etc, shame about the late check in and 9am departure time you feel you lose out a day ….

Lodge Retreat in Dorset. Enjoyable 7 nights stay in a Hazel 3 lodge. The site is in a peaceful woodland setting and the grounds are very well kept. We were lucky enough to be allocated our lodge of choice with a single private car parking space. It seems very strange that so many large lodges only have 1 very limited space not even adjacent to your accommodation.
This has not happened to us in other Darwin Escapes sites. These breaks are not cheap and to expect us to be happy with 5pm arrival and 10am departure is rather unacceptable.
Date of stay: March Value. Room Tip: Get a lodge with adjacent parking. We are pleased to hear you had an enjoyable week with us, finding the retreat peaceful and the grounds well kept.

Oct We stayed in a Hazel 3 bedroom even though there were only 2 adults. As it was March the prices were fairly good value. The observation I would pass on is there was huge difference in lodge size between the Rowan and the 2 bedroomed Hazel.
